The Decline and Fall of Civilization
Wow. So I recieved an e-mail from a company I run my IRA through. After reading it, I became suspicious. First, because they appear to be asking me for forms I am sure I have filled out and sent, and secondly because of the incredibly poor grammer typical of a phishing attmept. So, I forwarded the e-mail to the company as a heads up that someone may be using their information for phishing..

They wrote back telling me that indeed it was a legitimate e-mail, actually from them. I am just flabbergasted. If a reputable brokerage can't find applicants with a reasonable command of the language, then really, what are we coming to?

Here is a copy of the e-mail.

Wow, do you Google search Firstrade every day and see what comes up? I certainly don't mean to impugn your brokerage in any way. I will be happy to state for the record that I have been enormously satisfied with the service at Firstrade. This post was not meant to single out Firstrade as an example of bad grammar, it was merely a typical mope and grouse, "what are we all coming to" "le sigh, le sigh", "that's what you get for letting those kids text all day". I do tend to forget that this is a public forum and that by using your company's name, I put this post on the web for anyone to see who is researching your company. Please accept my apologies, and I will edit Firstrade's name out of the post.
